I started in Fall 2006 and finally finished it late 2009. I made so many hexagons that I was able to make two wall hangings. The fabric is called Teen Angst by Alexander Henry. The technique is called One Block Wonder. It uses only one fabric and creates a kaleidescope. The challenge is placing the hexagons so there is form to the quilt. Sometimes naming a piece can help in the direction and design of the quilt. In the wall hanging below, I pieced together fabrics to depict hollow cubes to add more interest.
